WHY DO STATERA LEGAL’S CONTRACTORS NOT HOLD PRACTISING CERTIFICATES?
Our contractors are highly skilled, trained and experienced enrolled barristers and solicitors of the High Court of New Zealand. Because they do not provide legal advice to any individual and are always under the direct supervision of the instructing lawyer, then the need to hold a practising certificate is redundant. This is no way diminishes their experience and expertise and they remain the same highly skilled, trained and experienced individuals that they were during the time when they did hold practising certificates.
HOW DOES STATERA LEGAL MAINTAIN CONFIDENTIALITY?
Statera Legal uses secure email and cloud storage systems in its practice. We also require that our contractors each enter into strict confidentiality agreements in addition to maintaining a conflict of interest register and carrying out searches of that register prior to accepting instructions from a practitioner.
WHY DO STATERA LEGAL’S CONTRACTORS WANT TO WORK IN THIS WAY?
Our contractors have realised that while they want to still remain active in the legal profession, they are seeking the work/life balance that working flexibly affords, particularly when it comes to balancing working with a family. They are ready and willing to work, but just in a different, more flexible way.
